Tōfā Fetāla’i, a new Samoan language advance care planning resource

Helping Samoan communities make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing, including end-of-life care, is the aim of a new advance care planning Samoan language resource.

Tōfā Fetāla’i, commissioned by Tō tātou Reo advance care planning and coordinated by Te Tāhū Hauora Health Quality & Safety Commission, is the first Pacific-oriented advance care planning resource,

Launched recently in Auckland, among those attending was resource working group members Dr Ramona Tiatia, Niukini Hendrske, Eirenei Vailaau-Ah Kuio and Gerhart Berking.

They were joined by Samoan community members as well as representatives from organisations who had supported the resource’ development, including:

·       Rev Martin Mariota and church members of EFKS Mangere I Sisifo

·       Rev Nove Vailaau and church members from EFKS Porirua
